The story of Mgroup, a Shopify Gold Partner
Every story of evolution begins with a monkey. Not because it was the strongest or the fastest, but because it was the first to try something different: pick up a stone, climb down from the tree, walk where nobody had walked.
Ours began the same way, in Zhytomyr, Ukraine, in 2015. A few developers called themselves Monkey Group and took on what almost nobody in the country was doing: building stores on Shopify while everyone around them was assembling sites on WordPress and Magento. It looked like an odd choice. A year later we were a Shopify partner. A few years later, a Shopify Select Partner, and in 2027 a Shopify Gold Partner. The odd choice turned out to be the next step.

What does a Shopify development partner do?
A Shopify development partner designs, builds and looks after your store on Shopify: theme development, migrations, apps and integrations, speed and conversion work, and support after launch. Unlike a one-off freelancer, a partner works with you over the long term and is accountable for the whole store, not a single task.
How does a Shopify development partner get access to my store?
Through a collaborator account. The partner sends a request from its Shopify Partner account, you approve it in your Shopify admin and choose which sections it can open. You can require a collaborator request code and remove access at any time, and no passwords are shared.
What is the difference between a Shopify Partner and a Shopify development partner?
"Shopify Partner" covers everyone in Shopify's Partner Program: app developers, theme designers, affiliates, freelancers and agencies. A Shopify development partner is a partner whose main work is building and running merchants' stores. Shopify also ranks partners into tiers by the sales they help generate; from 2027 the tiers are Silver, Gold, Platinum and Diamond.
