Increase the number of customers with well-formed emails!

March 6, 2018

Nowadays, having implemented the correct email marketing, you can overtake competitors by several steps and in a few months you can get a large base of not just subscribers but partners for cooperation. E-mailing is not advertising in enormous amount, as one of the methods it helps to create and strengthen quality and long-term relationships with a potential partner.

The first thing to consider is the general structure of the letter. It usually consists of a topic, the main body and contact information.

Let's take a closer look

Many disregard the title of the letter, and sometimes even ignoring it at all send the letter to a recipient. Think about it. We can receive an unreal number of letters every day. People can simply not have enough time to read your letter. However, a catchy, interesting and intriguing title is able to force the user, who has entered the Inbox folder, to open YOUR letter, giving to it his time with a subsequent reaction to an offer.

Once you have interested your reader and he opened your letter - everything depends on the body of the letter.

Now I will reveal 7 psychological tricks that will help to make the perception of your letter easier.

1. Active voice.

When we have an agent, we say "you will receive" or "you will know," and when there is no agent we form a sentence using a verb in the form of a noun. For example: "knowledge", "getting." How much does this affect the reader's involvement in your text?

For example:

1) Creating a clear TR of the project helps in the design of software.

2) When you draw up a clear TR of the project, it helps to design the software.

We wrote two sentences that are similar in meaning. The first sentence we have formed with the use of the verb in the form of a noun, and the second one– in an active voice. Agree that the second sentence is easier to perceive.

2. Positive construction.

Try to avoid “no” and “not” in the body of the letter. A positive sentence building helps to win over and interest the reader, while a negative one, on the contrary, will be repelled.

3. Binding words.

Moderate use of binding words such as "because" and "therefore" add transparency to the text and improve its perception.

4. Lack of similar words in the text

In 2007 scientists conducted an experiment and proved that people prefer to read varied texts, with different words and sentences. So we strongly recommend you to diversify your letter.

5. Analogies and Metaphors

If you write an article for a blog, analogies and metaphors can and even must be used in the text, but as for letters, they should not be used. I'll explain why! The fact is that if you do e-mailing to potential customers who are from other countries, they may not understand you or even be offended at all.

6. Specifics

Narrate in detail the reason of the letter and try as briefly as possible to describe your intentions. Agree that no one will read complex and ambiguous texts especially from unfamiliar address.

And in the end I want to talk about the contact details at the end of the letter. This is an important point. Required items:

Yours faithfully,

[The author of the letter]

[additional contact details]

[own e-mail address]

[address of your site]

The more you leave information about yourself the closer you will become to the reader. He will study you on your site, social networks, etc.

For what you need to duplicate your own e-mail address in the signature, you ask, if it is automatically forwarded by the mail server. There is a rule that unnecessary information in business correspondence is never unnecessary. Imagine a situation where your letter is received by a person potentially not interested in the proposal, or simply not competent to answer it correctly. It forwards the received message to another user, but at the same time for some reason the information about the true sender is lost from the automatically added data, which makes it difficult to contact you. However, it is always enough to look at the signature to identify the author of the letter and his necessary contacts.
